Easter Egg! Traditional Facts!

What do Easter Eggs got to do with Easter?

We have been researching about how Egg it relates to Easter. The Top Answer was revealed. Eggs are considered the symbol of rebirth of new life. That is traditionally well know for around 100 years. Easter bunnies today are actually the surviving remnant of much older traditions celebrated in christian days. Some people believe that bunnies, or rabbit symbolizes  sacred to the Goddess of the Dawn. Eggs were originally used to decorate spring. But different cultures use it in their own ways and rules. Another thing people believe is that the earth just hatched an egg itself. When Christianity began to spread one way of getting Pagans to accept the newest religion was to overlap Christian values and ideas. Easter is one of my favourite occasions of the year. Easter is the time that Jesus rose from the dead to save us from all our sins. Thank God for all that he has done for us. God Bless you all!

"Dog Surf!" 10 Senteces

We had to write a 10 sentences story from one picture.

1."Why do I see a surfing dog?"
2. On a wavey morning at the beach, I shockingly noticed a 'Munk Dog Squirrel' randomly floating on a surfboard.
3. "Woof!" The poor dog barked from the top of his board.
4. Unexpectedly, he suddenly slipped off his surfboard. Before this happened, he was rocking from being unbalanced.
5. Energetically, he quickly doggy-paddled back onto board while being frightened.
6. Shake! Shake! Shake! He shook himself after he disdainfully splashed in onto the cold, salty water.
7. He faced his fears and paddled to the shallow water.
8. "FANTASTIC!" I shouted  as I realized that he rescued himself.

9. I ran down onto the crunchy sand towards the Munk Dog Squirrel. "Well done doggy." I said as he happily jumped on me.
10. He was all alone. But how did he end up on the surfboard? I decided to take him home till the owner comes and picks it up.

5 Weeks At School Reflection!

(These 2 pictures are my Sunday School class and placing 1st in the top 3 in our Sunday School Exams.)  For the past few 5 weeks back in school, it has been going well and I feel glad to be in a really cool class with good friends and a wonderful teacher. So far we have been doing lots of learning, creating and sharing, especially movie-making.

Also in the recent past I have found new friends I can count on, Gloria, Tyler-Marie and Kaycee. They are so fun to hang around and make movies with. My new years resolution is to finish everything on time, achieve in many things, try my best and to think about others before myself.

People think I am funny, but I am so loud at times. From now on, I am going to try my best not to distract others. Writing and Maths are my favourite subjects at school. During this term, I have grown in being confident and standing up for my problems.

Last year, there were some big disasters because I needed catch ups. Next week I will be working on my script for our movie competition. I am going to put a lot of effort into it. For this year 2013, I am looking forward to more learning and fun.

Sudden Comings!! (The Car Stopped, Why?)

Our writing task was to make a story with only 100 words about a car Suddenly Stopping and why.

With Mum waiting in the car, I rushed out the door feeling unprepared for school. Inside the airy car I climbed, shut! We were ready to go. Driving up the high driveway and out onto the narrow road we went, the car suddenly stopped. Why? A big crowd of people were surrounding two cars which had abruptly slammed together. The car owners were tossed out of the car and badly hurt by the hard cold concrete. Afterwards,  the cops and ambulances came to check them out. Both cars were badly damaged. A few days later, the victims were back home.

Have you done anything good and wise to make someone happy this week?  Room 15 has created a movie of how many people we've made more awesomer. It was so fun making it and we hope you enjoy!!

Einstein Story!

Our reading task was to make something creative from the "Einstein Quote" written by Albert Einstein. I created a poem of what I see and feel about it. Here it goes.....

How unusual it is for lots of us human. Everyone here doesn't stay alive till the very end. Why is that?  While we grow older in the future, sickness might get in the way of keeping you strong. We start getting weak and wrinkly as we grow older. We don't understand the meaning of life . The main thing might just be to make people happy but how I see it, For example: I base it on a living or dead, mother and daughter, son and father, and making it a good nor wrong situation. And thats why I must put effort into to everything I do like solving a problem between someone or many and "Striving instead of Struggling."

'MTV Movie Mind Your Manners!"

This movie is a MTV film made by Gloria, Tyla-Marie, Kaycee and I.We used the 'Mind Your Manners' beat and created our own lyrics. It was a lot fun making it. Hope You Enjoy!!!!!!

'The Black Hole' New World/................Weird!

 


“RIINGG RIIINNG RRIRIIIIINNNNNG!!!” The annoying 5:00am alarm rings. I arose anxiously out of my comfortable, funky bed feeling nervous for my first day in high school. I said to myself, “I wonder what it’ll feel like to be in high school, are the people there mean? I hope my teacher isn’t an everyday angus lady/man.”  

Walking slowly down the breezy hallway to the bathroom, I knew I still had lots of time till school started. ‘Click’ the bathroom light illuminated and my eyes were frightened by the brightness.

“My uniform fits perfectly!” I told mum and dad. They were so happy for me, but I still had butterflies in my stomach.

“BEEP!”  “Bye Mum, bye Dad.”  There goes the car, they wave goodbye and oh my gosh, how afraid I was. I was shaking as I walked into my classroom thinking about the processes I was going to go through today.

 “Wait, this isn’t my class. A student told me to turn to the second left. I think she was trying to get me in trouble.”  On the door said ‘7b.’ I sighed and walked in. There were so many photocopiers in the big classroom. There was one big printer in front of me that unexpectedly printed out an A4 paper with a BIG BLACK CIRCLE on it. I placed the paper beside me. I took off my school bag and it suddenly dropped through the black circled paper. “How weird it was.”

I slowly crawled my hand through paper to find my school bag. I feel so free, I feel that I could have anything I want just from a piece of paper.  “There it is.” I pulled out my school and picked the paper up. I walked out the door. Walking down the school hallway just like this  morning, I said “If I could wish for anything that could come true, I’d choose to go to Hollywood with my whole family.”  The paper fell and I accidently stepped into the black hole.................................. “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” I shouted as I was falling down into the dark tunnel.
“OUCH!” I shouted as my butt slapped loudly on the grass. “Where am I?” There was a really enormous mountain in front of me. “ Is this rea re real really the exact one. HOLLYWOOD!!!!! WOOO-HOOOO!!!” I felt so happy. I felt something so warm hugging my back. I turned around and it was my parents and siblings. That was a joyous day.
