"Will.I.Am Visits Pt England School." (That Power Justin Bieber ft Will.I.Am)

A heap of cameras surrounded our school hall while we were all waiting for the amazing, world-wide rapper, WILL.I.AM!! Yip, the actual one! We were all determined to see him. Henry and I warmed up our voices in preparation. We are singing to him, Yay!

Everyone in the school hall silenced in agitation. Will.I.Am walked through the ‘entry’ door and we were all “WOWED!” By his amazing look.

Will.I.Am talked about his life and how he was raised in a very poor neighbour-hood. We were inspired by his speech about “Living The Dream!” Thank God he was here with us to share some of the amazing experience of what he did to become famous. Look at him now. We were also thankful because........................... He donated $100,000!! To the Manaiakalani Education Trust. Mr Burt along with the other principals from the eastern zone schools were surprised with happiness.

I enjoyed having Will.I.Am at our school. ‘Well done Pt England for being representative role-models.”

Room 15 Task

Because of that, Miss King got us to write a simpler meaning of his new song with Justin Bieber, ‘That Power.’

I compared the meanings of ‘That Power’ to his poor life and living. In between the song, he says, “I use to have a piggy bank, but now I have a bigger bank.” This is what got me thinking. When he was poor and had needed, he saved his money in a piggy bank for food and safe furniture. But now since he is famous, he has a bigger courier and a bigger bank! Justin Bieber also says ‘I’m alive and I can fly.’

If you can’t quite get it, here is the link to his new latest song “That Power.”

Movie Competition! "My History My Heritage!"

Hosannah S My History My Heritage! from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

Last term, I entered a movie competition on the mix and mash website. It wasn't easy work to create a movie of my own without any friends. This movie is about how thrilled I was to see the first look of the  church I belong to. Feel free to watch and please leave a comment.

God Bless!!

My History, My Heritage!

Before                                                              After

“OMG!!” I shouted as the historic photo of the Tamaki Presbyterian church (also the church I am a pupil of) brought a big smile to my face. This picture (above) is the real one, the real thing I have been waiting for. The first ever look of the presbyterian church on Pt England rd.

My grandfather, Rev. Lei’ite Setefano is now the minister in the Tamaki P.I.P.C standing for, ‘Pacific Islander Presbyterian Church.’  This photo is showing the corner of Pt England rd and Pilkington rd taken in 1867. My family and I are really into church. So I am writing a narrative of what my imagination thinks it might look like those days.............

On a “Roar” Sunday morning, mum cooks porridge for the kids to eat before they all leave for White Sunday. Today was supposed to a nice day, but it was stormy and rainy. The children walk to the kitchen table with their White Sunday clothes ready to eat and all ready for White Sunday. Only about five scoops of porridge and the church bell suddenly rang for everyone to go to church and get ready into their age groups.

Inside the church they went filled with hundreds of people. Joyful songs were heard as they happily walked inside and the whole church was filled with white colours and clothings. Class by class it went doing their plays and bible speeches. The heavy rain went and the sun finally came.

White Sunday came to an end and everybody felt glad. They were also served with a delightful after feast.

White Sunday and Sunday School. We also have a church blog. If you'd like to visit it, click here.
